Remington more about Remington
Legend has it that in 1816 a young Eliphalet Remington II believed he could build a better gun than he could buy, and he set out to craft such a gun on his father's forge located at Ilion Gulch, New York. In 1828 Remington moved its operations from Ilion Gulch to a site close to the newly constructed Erie Canal. This site, in Ilion, New York, is part of the property on which the Ilion firearms plant sits today. The first records of Remington gun manufacture date to 1848, with a purchase of gun making machinery from the Ames Company. To this day Remington rifles and their button formed rifling are affordable and noted for their inherent "out of the box" accuracy. visit the Remington company website >>
